Roxanne spent her first twenty one years in Wadsworth, Ohio. After an invite from her sister, she ventured West to start a new career in winemaking. Her time spent in winemaking allowed her to travel the world, living and working in New Zealand and Australia during three separate harvests. Yoga first made an appearance when she was 25 and she was encouraged to take a Vinyasa class.... never thinking that this decision might change her life. Over the next two years living in Santa Rosa she continued to work in wine, dropping into random classes here and there, and driving down to Napa on the weekends to practice in the Mysore room at Ekam. Eventually she realized she wanted to dive a little deeper into her yoga practice and signed up for a 200 hour yoga teacher training. It was during this experience that she noticed a monumental shift. The training came to an end and she made some big decisions; she quit her job at the winery and moved to Napa to work full time at Ekam Yoga and Wellness. She is now fully dedicated to practicing Ashtanga Yoga, and in December of 2016 made her way to Mysore India where she spent 6 weeks practicing with Saraswati Jois at the birthplace of Ashtanga Yoga, the Sri. K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute. Upon her return she was selected to assist in the Mysore program at Ekam. Roxanne now spends her time not only as a dedicated student, but as a dedicated teaching assistant devoted to sharing the amazing benefits of this practice with everyone she can.
