As a college student Katie was introduced to Yoga by a friend who would show she and her hippy friends poses in their living room. They would go out into the Red Rocks in Sedona and do the poses they had learned and try to meditate. Since those days in the desert, Katie has been a Yogi in some shape or form. She takes inspiration in life from her grandmother who always had a calm optimism and determination about her, and in teaching from Rusty Wells and his style of being serious but playful, deeply spiritual and connected all while jamming to Madonna. Her approach is to meet every student exactly where they are and provide exactly what they need. She encourages students to play at their edge; the place where breath, flexibility, balance, strength and focus come together to create that sacred space that is Yoga.
