Our next Beginners Series led by Jill Abelson will teach you all the fundamentals for your yoga practice. Each week introduces a new series of yoga poses, teaching the fundamentals of healthy and safe alignment, connecting movement with breath, and use of props. Beginning with how to sit and breath properly, the Series progresses through lessons on Standing Poses, Basic Sun Salutations, Forward Bends, Back Bends, Twisting Poses, and Inversions. All classes conclude with a blissful relaxation and seated meditation. Class sizes are limited to ensure everyone gets personalized, hands-on attention. At the end of the series, you will be prepared to step confidently into any of our all-levels classes.
Week 1: Yoga Basics, Introduction to Standing + Balancing Poses
Week 2: How to “Flow:” Sun Salutations + Forward Bending Poses
Week 3: Sun Salutations + Introduction to Back Bending Poses
Week 4: Introduction to Inversions
Week 5: Hips + Twists
Week 6: Integration and Putting it all Together
